It is important for the investigator/ detectives to have direct contact with the genealogist in several ways.

It is important for the genealogist to know if there is case background to support a particular pathway of investigation.  It is also important for the genealogist to ensure that no actions disrupt a sensitive investigation

Additionally, the genealogist may provide the investigators with information during the pathway of research that could quickly accelerate and help an investigation.

When uploading an unknown sample to the public genealogy database(s), anyone matching to those samples may see those results.  However, samples can be removed from the databases to protect the investigation, if needed.

Bode will deliver reports to the submitting agency in various stages.

Extraction/ Quantification Report: If Bode is performing an extraction or quantification, this will be provided as a report under our ISO 17025 accreditation. 

Forensic Genealogy Screening Report: Upon the completion of SNP testing and screening in the database, a report will be issued to the client for review.  Included will be a recommendation on how to proceed with the case – including a recommendation to proceed/ not proceed with forensic genealogy investigation.

Forensic Genealogy Investigation Report: If the case moves forward with forensic genealogy investigation, a report will be issued that includes the findings from the genealogy team, as well as statements and recommendations on how the submitting agency should proceed with their investigation.
